What will happen if you have an allergy to eggs?
My daughter is 14 months and had eggs for the 1st time tonight. She threw up an hour later. Could she be allergic? I expected hives with an allergy.

Yes, do not feed her any more eggs until she gets older
Hard to tell. If this is her first time, than maybe they didn't set well with her. Did you scramble them, fry them, hard boil them? Hard boiled, chopped, is the best for them. Try again in a few days. If it happens more than once, she could be allergic.
She could be allergic. Nausea, hives, stomachache…those kind of things will result.
Its possible. But I always thought when you where allergic to something that you would break out in a rash or hives. I know I do. Then it could be because it was the first time that she had eaten them and her body was not use to them maybe this is why she threw up. Or it could have been what you cooked the eggs in (grease) this could be the reason.
hi, im also allergic to eggs even had an anaphylactic shock 2 years ago when i had my antiinfluenza vaccination. so here are some facts about allergies:
Infants like toddlers, still doesnt have a fully matured immune and digestive system so they are usually receptive in developing food allergy.
Symptoms for food allergies are many, varied and very individualistic.
- hives
- itching
- swelling of any body part
- red and watery eyes
- runny nose
- vomiting
- diarrhea
- coughing and wheezing.
- anaphylactic shock (very severe and fatal)
food allergies though may tend to disappear with age.
in the other hand, this may be food intolerance.
for proper diagnosis, check with your doctor.
Not necessary, if it's allergy, she'll get some other indication on her skin, like some small boils or skin changes color, but this does not happen immedietly . maybe, she didn't like it's taste or could be upset stomach or something, try again but fry or boil it and first give her small amounts only.
not necessarily allergy related. Could be a low tolerance to whatever the egg was cooked in, the way it was fed, how it was cooked, etc.
being so young it is hard to tell whether or not it just didn't settle well with her stomach or if she is actually allergic. waiting for her to be a bit older and getting tested from an allergist to determine if she is actually allergic to eggs. if she is it could be a mild case where she will not be able to eat eggs only or it could be severe to the point were anything with eggs included could cause hives, throat closure, etc.
