What are some great 1st foods and/or websites to use for an infant with a milk allergy?

My 6month old is slowly taking on foods but she also has a milk allergy and I was looking for family friendly foods and baby food brands and snacks that would be great for her. Anything milk free would be great.

You can put almost anything in the blender, or you can buy your own applesauce. My son is lactose intolerant and drinks soy milk, he's a year old. I give him almost anything just stay away from dairy until hes a little older. But you can put fresh fruit, applesauce even canned veggies you have for dinner with your family in a blender for your baby.

Hi, both my kids are allergic to dairy, as am I (but didn't know until after my son tested positive to many foods). We are off the top 8 allergens (and other things also).

The Gerber line has a lot of one-food containers (i.e. veggies and fruits) that do fine, but of course most of the 2nd foods and up all have milk and other things that my kids can't have.

If you have a natural foods health store (i.e. Whole Foods) near you, there are additional and different baby food options, like frozen organic stuff… but I think the main thing is to utilize the Gerber stuff that is safe and supplement with fresh foods wherever you can.

My daughter is 14 months now and eats things like fresh broccoli, sauteed or steamed (you can microwave it with a little sea salt and safe chicken broth for 4 minutes, let it sit and cool and it continues to cook perfectly). Broccoli is one of the better vegetables and hard to come by with good taste and texture in frozen or jarred food.

Safe snacks - for a 6mo, you don't need to push solids yet, so when she is interested, you can try things like soft pasta or super-ripe fruit, melt in your mouth cereals.. blended veggie soup… not sure what else you are looking for. First foods are usually just the one-at-a-time single foods, i.e. green beans, squash, carrots, pears, applesauce..

Remember to introduce slowly - one new food every.. I think it's at least 3-5 days, preferably a week if you are worried about other allergies. Good luck! If you are interested in a resource for support, try - this is where I went when I had to do elimination diets and was completely lost on how to cook without different foods like wheat, egg, soy, milk, oat, seafood, some fruits, all nuts, seeds.. etc… but that's me, sorry :) Best of luck!
