How effective are allergy shots for bees and hornets?

I am considering going for allergy shots. But I don't know how effective they are and from what I understand you must go for 2 to 5 years and there is no guarantee that your reactions to a sting will be lessened. If someone had gone thru this please let me know.

Take a teaspoon of LOCAL honey each day-this will help you develop immunity to bee and hornet stings. It will also keep you from reacting to any pollen, mold, dust pet dander and mildew in the air. This will work for you but it will take a while to become effective. It is not harmful to your system like shots of chemicals that would be injected into your body. Natural is best.

The last thing I heard, some of those shots have been discontinued. Ask and be sure. My cousin used to be very allergic. She had the shots and she is much better now.

Please don't listen to the person who recommended honey, if it truly worked a majority of Americans would be doing it. No one does it, and I know several people who have severe allergies.

Yeah, it's a long, difficult process, and even at the end you may not get results. I'm currently on allergy drops, which you put under your tongue, but I haven't got any relief and am going in for allergy shots starting next week. Best of luck.
