Do I need an allergy resistant pillow cover with an allergy resistant pillow?

I am severely allergic to dust mites. So I have all allergy resistant pillows, but I only cover the one I put my head on with an allergy pillow cover (it is like a regular pillowcase but fits more snug & zips up to seal the pillow inside). Then I put a regular pillowcase over it. I have not had any problems with allergies since using the allergy resistant pillow & mattress covers. The mattress cover was a great investment too. It may pay to put the allergen resistant pillow cover to be safe; but really it should be ok with the regular pillow cover, as you already have an allergy resistant pillow….See a naturopath/homeopath about your allergies, as they are great at helping in this area.

Make sure to wash your bed clothes frequently, too. One thing a pillow cover can do is to keep your pillow smelling fresher if you sweat on it at night. You wash the cover and don't have to wash the pillow.

I have severe dust mite allergy. I put zippered allergy proof covers on all my pillows, even the ones that they say are allergy-proof to begin with. I don't even want to take a chance. Also, I wash all my sheets and pillowcases every Sunday with this De-Mite stuff to get rid of all the allergy bits that build up on your sheets.
