Can an allergy shot cause allergy symptoms?
I started getting allergy shots a couple months ago and I just switched to a new vial. The next day I started having more sinus drainage, a sore throat, and itchy eyes. Could this be caused by the allergy shot?

YES!! The new vial is either a NEW DOSE or a NEW ALLERGEN also. They should have told you that if you had an allergic reaction what to do. You are having an allergic reaction…..call your doc right now!! do not take ANOTHER shot until you do.
The purpose of allergy shots is to BUILD up a tolerance to the allergen, and well, you broke through….the body is releasing histamine FAST on you. The next shot will release MORE histamine, and possible put you in a life threatening allergic reaction or anaphalaxic shock.
PLEASE call your doctor NOW!! *although they probably won't have you come IN, they will tell you how to proceed….when you can do another shot, how much, ect.
Good luck.
Yes, this is why you have to wait 30 min or an hour before leaving the office.
If the symptoms above are not your usual symptoms, you might just be getting a cold, but I would suggest checking with your doctor.
